Hi Bob from Bayside,
I just installed the GIVI windshield.
Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1530.

I don't like the Givi shield... It's way too big... You'll blow away on a windy day!

Re: Honda Windshield?
I rode all Winter here in Denver and didn't get "blown away"...and I weigh about 160lbs. The Givi was wonderful. ANY practical windscreen will get 'grabbed' in crosswinds and you'll probably note some headwind buffeting. The windshields are actually more aero dynamic than a human body, and depending on your stance, clothing, helmet (with its shield up or closed) you might be much better off with a windshield.
Not to mention the great boost in top speed from a tailwind
My 2p - and exactly what it is worth.

I cut my Honda windshield down a few inches, and I noticed a big improvement. The wind was pushing me around way too much...

Re: Honda Windshield?
I've been riding with the tall Honda windshield this winter and like the wind protection for the body, but really missing the protection for the hands on the cold days. The other negatives is the loss of top end, about 9 mph, which is not big deal as I ride it mostly in the city and the loss of mpg (down about 8 mpg over the last few tanks, but some of this can be contributed to the winter mix of fuel they sell in my area).
My question is, did cutting down the windshield a few inches make any difference on mpg and top end?

I cut down the Honda shield too, but for the reason of better line of vision at night, during rain and especially for those slight dips in the road on cool autumn days that completely blot out your screen with the most minute of droplets.......
Also, installed knuckle visors for getting the wind off the hands in winter....

Now those look good, I'm thinking I'll need to get a pair.

Re: Honda Windshield?
They aren't cheap, but absolutely worth it. And along with Oxford heated grips, below freezing temps are unnoticeable.....
There are already 3 holes on each side to accept the installation and they go on in minutes with "push" fasteners, and no further dis-assembly. I had to slightly modify them with a rat-tail file (<1/8")to clear the singular bolt-head that secures the turn-signal indicators; which aren't used on the European models because the signals are mounted in the front cowling........
The intruding screw-head is seen, from below, in this photo, lower center.....

Re: Honda Windshield?
So I've been thinking about a honda windshield and was trying to find out are the aerodynamics better with the windshield or not if they are top end should go up and fuel economy should also go up ,but the testing must be done with same weather conditions ,wind temp ,same road same speed etc,

Re: Honda Windshield?
Generally speaking: any windshields are much better aerodynamic than a human body.
