red line for rpm on Sh150

Post by Wenzel4nv » Sun Aug 08, 2010 9:21 pm

Hey Guys and Gals!

I recently installed a cheap-o tachometer on my Sh150 and it does seem to be fairly accurate at least at the lower rpm. It shows the idle to be 1520 and the shop said it was idling at 1510.

So, does anyone know what the red line for rpm is on the sh150? I was able to hold 70 mph on a long downgrade and the tach was showing 8400 rpm. I know this seems high but Honda has always built machines that rev out of sight. I had a V-twin 500 in 1981 that would rev to 13500 so fast in first gear that it was hard to believe. I think red line on that bike was 14000.

If anyone has any information about rpm on the sh150, Please sound off about it.

Have a good day riding
