Overheating
My 2010 sh150i has 47k miles..last year the charging system had a problem, so the dealer changed the winding...but, afterwards the scoot started running hot...there doesn't seem to be a leak...but, I noticed the fan wasn't coming on..I pulled out the thermostat and wired the fan direct...it helped on short trips...but, if I get caught in traffic..I'm dead. I thought it might be a collapsing hose...or maybe a blown head gasket. I don't see any coolant coming out the exhaust...I even checked the water pump...which looks OK...HELP!

Re: Overheating
It looks like damaged head gasket.
Have you checked coolant level? look inside radiator, maybe it is half-full.
And smoke from exhaust - maybe it becomes white sometimes?

Re: Overheating
I'm not certain, but i think there is an air bleed nut on the engine. Could there be air in there I'm wondering?

In >2012 model - i don't know, but in earlyer (before ABS) model of SH there is such nut. It is located on thermostat's body, directed upwards. Red arrow on picture.
If head gasket is damaged, there MUST be air in cooling system. It gets there from cylinder when it works and creates pressure, much much higher, then in cooling system.

Re: Overheating
Here is a past-post relating to the above mentioned, and the cure for or verification of other 'problems'......

Re: Overheating
Maybe if the head gasket is leaking you could see air bubbles in the coolant in the radiator if you take the cap off? At dealerships they usually pressure test the system.
