Valve clearance question
When checking the valve clearance, I've noticed that the exhaust rocker arm has a considerable amount of play (you can move it closer/ farther from the valve stem), probably 1-2 mm. Given that the clearance tolerance is +/- 0.02 mm, do I set the valve clearance with the rocker arm/adjust screw pushed all the way down or pulled out? The intake rocker arm has a tiny bit of play, but much less. Thanks.

Re: Valve clearance question
....a little confused.
Are you certain you are at Top-Dead-Center with the numeral "1" timing mark on the cam sprocket facing UP and the "2" facing down?
The few times I have performed this procedure, I do not recall having to deal with any such issue as you describe. Everything was pretty solid and straight forward from what I remember.
I am not a mechanic and just mess with my own stuff and there might be something else going on here.....

Yep, it's top dead center. I wonder if having that much play is worth having it checked by a mechanic.

Re: Valve clearance question
The only major thing that has happened is the camshaft holder cracked once and had to be replaced. Otherwise routine stuff.
