Post by Custodian » Mon Sep 26, 2016 8:02 pm

Time to take the wheels in to have new tires mounted... removing the rear... I have removed the muffler,.. and purchased a 24mm socket for the 1/2" swinghandle... I am down to the axle nut, 2 swingarm bolts and lower shock bolt.... any particular order for removal?

-----shock absorber lower mounting bolt (and secure with a piece of rope)
-----axle nut
-----swingarm bolts and washers
-----swingarm
-----inside collar
-----outside collar
-----rear wheel

INSTALLATION:
Install the rear wheel onto the final shaft, aligning the splines.
Apply grease to grease groove and swingarm bearing fitting area of the final shaft.
Install the collars into the swingarm.
Install the swingarm onto the final shaft.
Install the swingarm bolts with the washers and tighten. TORQUE: 49 N-m (5.0 kgf-m, 36 lbf-ft)

Install shock lower mounting bolt. TORQUE: 27 N-m (2.8 kgf-m, 20 lbf-ft)
Install muffler: Install NEW (compression!) gasket.
Install the muffler with the mounting bolts and joint nuts by setting the exhaust pipe flange onto the stud bolts.
Tighten the joint nuts first, then tighten the mounting bolts.
TORQUE: Exhaust pipe joint nut: 29 N-m (3.0 kgf-m, 21 lbf-ft)
TORQUE: Muffler mounting bolt: 49 N-m (5.0 kgf-m, 36 lbf-ft)
Install mudguard.

Misc. thoughts:
Remember to unlock the brake when removing the tire!
Double verify proper direction of NEW tire rotation marks and arrows, no matter who puts tires on rim.
Balance tires.
Clean up the brake drum and 'scuff' the shoes and a little grease on the shoe sliding surfaces of the brake cam. Be sure it is all clean and dry when putting back on.

This should be enough information to complete the task.
