Just a quick one. Had a pillion today and now rear wheel when up on the stand is not spinning freely. When engine is on rear wheel spins? Speedo has also stopped working.
Anyone know what's broke other then speedo cable?

Re: Rear wheel not spiking freely
Pardon me, but what is a pillion?
The rear wheel doesn't spin freely as there is always some drag from the pulley and belt.
When on the stand it'll try to spin and if you gun the throttle it will really spin.....
Wish I knew what a pillion is......might help.....

Sorry pillion is a passenger on the back. I know what you mean about the wheel not spinning totally free there is always tension but now I can move the rear wheel at all with my hand.

Is the brake 'locked'? Can you move the brake lever by the wheel hub at all?
Did the passenger step on the brake cable?
How many miles on the bike; as my next guess would be that outer bearing, which is not to hard to replace.....
Does the wheel turn (on stand) above idle? Is the rear brake just 'stuck' due to dirt and corrosion in the hub?
Did this occur after the pubs all closed and through your 'beer-goggles' you fell in love and the 'passenger' far exceeded the weight limit and now you don't remember anything at all? (which most of us can relate to!)

Haha, well I took it apart and one of the clutch springs had failed there for the shoe was stuck to the outer wall. Stuck a new clutch in and while I was there changed the drive belt and rollers as they needed does. Now the bike rides like brand new.
