Hi all, got a SH125i with about 9,000 miles on which Im using for commuting about 8 miles round trip each day. Noticed yesterday that it was juddering/shuddering quite a lot on acceleration from standstill.

I dont have a lot of knowledge about scooters, but is it safe to assume its the belt/pulleys wearing ? Any adjustment or is it just a replace belt scenario ?

Any pointers gratefully received. Seems fine once up to speed, just the initial 0-20 pull away.

Only 9000 miles. Maybe dirty-oily belt-pulleys.

In the past, I greatly improved upon this by doing the above and more importantly using an air gun to blow out the clutch housing through the holes in the housing. A lot of dust will come out and avoid breathing it.

Time and talent allowing, I'd disassemble and clean the pulleys and especially the clutch housing and clean the pads and rough them up a bit with sandpaper. Then ever-so-slightly lubricate and clean all components being aware and careful not to allow oil or grease near the clutch pads or housing.

Either way, I believe you notice immediate improvement.

Usually a build up of dust in the clutch bell...
A blow out with an air line shoukd sort it...
Also a few quick starts, gets the the clutch biting quicker and harder, can improve matters

Thanks Guys, sounds like an italian tune up 1st (hard starts), then airline to the clutch bell if not improved, then finally strip down.

So how do I get an airline in the clutch bell ? Is this left hand side, where breather connects ?

Remove the large cover over the belts on the left side. You'll see openings around the clutch.
