New Member Needs Advice

Post by RonSH150VN » Wed May 18, 2016 8:52 am

My first post. My first scooter but have owned a few bikes previously from 500-900cc. I'm from Texas. I spend a lot of time in Vietnam. Bought brand new VN Sh150 in 2014 that I keep in Vung Tau. Didn't see the point of paying more than double for the Italian. Now has 6500km. All factory service performed at Honda dealer. Now warranty is over. I'm looking forward to self-servicing and basic performance mods. First I want a bit more air flow and exhaust. The easiest to find is K&N and Yoshimura. Have used both before with good results. Will someone tell me if I'm on the right track or what you recommend? Also hope to get a lead on some websites for parts...please help. Will try to find and post questions under correct topics now that introduction is done. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum Ron.
Though I have never tinkered with the exhaust, there are some here who have in the past and I suggest using the "Search" function to review their posts.
I have used the K & N air filter on two SH's since their 'birth' for ~30,000 miles and can only relate that I have yet to have any problems with either scoot and constantly achieve GREAT fuel-milage.

Here are few links I keep on file as for potential need of 'parts':

P.S.....I spent a couple years, in the distant past, in V.N. and Love the country and the people within the Buddhist culture.
