Not at all. The CVT of any scooter will keep the revs up so that low rpm running and plug fouling are not an issue.
My Swing runs at around 4000 rpm around town and only 5000 rpm at 62 mph. Its redline is 7500 rpm. Yes, it has a tach.

Thanks. For now the SH is a blast to ride but I appreciate the info for the future, who knows 8-) My wife has always been a "motorcycle" fan so once she tires of the 110 and wants to make the switch then maybe I'll trade the 110 & SH and get a maxi. Time will tell...

As far as the Burgman 400 goes, I get about 62mpg running at highway speeds (55-70mph). Drop that down to "around the burbs" riding at 40-50mph, and my mileage goes up to 70mpg.

Thats not bad, Barbara for a 400cc. I wonder why the Yamaha Majesty 400 only averages 50 mpg, at least that is what the dealers have always told me? There are a handful of Burgmans in our area scooter club and that is about what the 400's get for them too. The 650 gets 50 according to one of our riders. The Burgman seems to have a higher rep than the Majesty but I like the looks of both. I like your red one a lot :D

I think Maxi scooters are just to big for me. But I wouldn't mind the power. Here's hopin for the 300 sh.

Thats how I feel too, but I will admit that the Burgman is growing on me. There are a handful of them in our area scoot club with all size riders and they love them. They are definitely how to ride in style. Might be one in my future but I would prefer the 250 version, same looks less power and weight, I'll never do 100mph anyway.

Beware of the Burgy 650's maintenance requirements. They are way more expensive to maintain than a Silverwing.

I would never have any desire to go for a 650. Most riders in our club are on 400's, there are two 650 riders and they don't seem to have any problems. I wish Honda would bring back the Reflex 250, that is a nice machine and about perfect for me. Maybe when I'm ready to move up Honda will have another 250-300cc scoot. We'll see....
