20 G's, my turn

Post by breaknwind » Mon Jun 29, 2015 2:25 pm

I'd have 30 G's on it if I didn't buy my BV350. Got home from work, changed the air filter, oil, gear oil and spark plug. I'm checking the valve gap this weekend. Jonny on the spot 8-)

Congradulations on the 20 grand. I just turned 12,000 on mine today. I was wondering if you changed the drive belt? when?

The dealer screwed up my drive pulley and hid the fact. I was changing the rollers to sliders and found it. Had to replace the drive pulleys at 5000 miles. I forgot to mark the rotation on the belt and didn't want to run it backwards. I changed the second belt at 15,000 because I run 70-75 MPH to and from work. Don't want a failure at those speeds. The belt is rated at 15,000 miles, but for $50, I can afford to be safe. The belt for my BV350 cost $150
If you drive as hard as I do you'll need to replace the front break pads at 15,000. I was flushing the break fluid and the pads were at the perfect time to be replaced.
This puppy is like a Timex, takes a licking and keeps on ticking 8-) Just keep the shinny side up

If you cruise at 70-75 it might be worth fitting a gear up kit if you don't already have one. You knock your RPM down about 12-1300.

How did you get yours to run 75mph? I can only get 69mph downhill.

AS you live in TN the chance of you finding a JCosta variator i think is a bit slim.

That is for the model with the radiator in the front, if you have the latter version with the engine mounted radiator ie. ESP you'll need JC64202FSEVO3. The difference is in the bell, the bit on the left in your picture.

Congrats. I just turned 10,000 miles.

Hope to continue with only spark plug and oil changes and new belt at 15000.

The 150 seems just enough to carry my 190lbs plus groceries cruising at 60mph (68top) and get nearly 80mpg doing it. Very comfortable with Honda windscreen and it is fun.
Transport, efficiency, and fun in one package.

The one requirement is you have to ride like you are invisible.
Another way to put it is ride as if they are out to get you.
Or imagine what the stupidest thing those around you might do and be ready for that.
happy riding.....
