... Went for a ride in the +90°'s heat and 95% humidity and 'hear' all kinds of things 'different'.....
For the heck-of-it did you try removing the piece on the back of the muffler just to see if you can notice any variation or filling up with a different 'brand' of gasoline (less ethanol or +octane) to possibly notice a 'difference' and find you some peace-of-mine' or a new 'normal'?
Scraping the bottom-of-the-barrel here.......

Took muffler off, shook the shit out of it. No noise.

I think it's from glazing of clutch. I may just replace it.

So I took off the cover and checked the cvt areas will running. Other than the OEM belt moving around it looks and sounds fine.

BTW, how many miles are on your SH?

So I took it there and they f***ed up my scooter, stripped the rear wheel nut, wheel came loose messed up the new brake shoes, left off bolts, screws, etc, Didn't fix the problem. I asked them to take a look at the clutch, they didn't do any maintenance on it and I couldn't open it. SO I just lubed what I could.

Got new tire on, got new nut too. All is OK. Working on what is causing belt to jump around. Is anyone else getting this.

Yes.......and.......No.
There seems to be 2 topics dealing with the same related issue and not much anyone can say as we monitor and empathize with your unique situation and in the future this may be of benefit to others too.

I ordered a new variator, will put it on along with the new boss face and rollers.

I will then check the belt to see if it is still bouncing around. If so, getting the tool to pull clutch apart and do maintenance properly and check the service limits.

I kind of think the 2 threads are related also but cannot prove it yet.

It was definitely me not using a torque wrench to tighten the clutch nut and variator but. Torque wrench only for this items.

I figured it out. It was the sleeve for the clutch that keeps the guides for the slides in.

Mine had large cuts in it from the guide pins. The shop put in too much lube. The pressure messed it up. I ordered a new one and replaced it, problem is corrected.
