IMHO the "boss" that the movable drive face rides on should fit (go on) either way.
Face Bushing I.D. Service Limit: 24.064mm (0.94740in)
Boss O.D. Service Limit: 23.956mm (0.9431in)
You might have found your problem!?

The new boss face only goes one way. Got the chatter back some. No slipping yet. I ordered variator. I'll install new boss face I already have to. Just to make sure. Then I'm going to order the tool to get clutch apart properly.

This is where I am. If I keep the scooter under 40 mph. No clutch glazing or slipping. As soon as I get it above 55 MPH for more than 25 mins straight it glazes.

It's come back again. I'm starting to think of doing some mods to Bell. Holes in it. That kind of thing.

Wondering:
I just cleaned out the case and checked and cleaned the rollers and noticed AGAIN that the "boss" can and does go on either way.....where-as you state that it can only go on one way.
Have you checked the specs on the "boss" (bushing) which is #3 in the below picture:

My new one and the old one won't go either way. So I have ordered new variator. Should be here this week I have everything clean and turn apart except the clutch. I have it in the compression tool. I need a bigger socket. Next, I'm going to take the driven face apart and clean and degrease. I have bearing grease for my car's wheel fittings. Is this the same grease?

I have the tools to the work for replacing the needle bearings and and such in driven pulley. New variator etc, it should be great afterwards. I'm also getting a ventilated clutch Bell. I guess I should just get the clutch that would go with it too, what do you think? I'm trying to be done with this.

Do whatever suits best the problems you perceive and you wish to resolve.
Ventilating the clutch bell seems an action unnecessary if some other problem didn't exist.
Good Luck.

I'm worried about doing the ventilating. I'm going to try to purchase one ventilated.

Purchasing has been difficult.

I have the driven pulley apart. Only have the circlip to remove and the outer bearing. Waiting for parts.

I have a question. The driven pulley has the seal collar. Mine has grooves. Here's picture.
