10,000 mile club

Post by Mikey » Sat Jul 30, 2016 8:25 pm

I joined the SH150 10,000 mile club this week. Ive been consistent with my oil changes. Just started using Amsoil scooter oil. More expensive but it is only one quart. Changed the rear diff fluid. Adjusted the valves once, changed the spark plug once. Changed the tires once. Couple of new air filters. Changed the coolant once.
Still the original brake pads and shoes.

I have some aftermarket springs for the front and will change the front fork fluid before the end of the year. It's been great relationship. My first scooter and very happy with performance and cost of ownership.

Purchased new in 2011.

I too will join the club with 2 SH's of >10,000 miles each.
I use Rotella T-6 oil and change ~every 1500 miles and match you exactly with the other maintence issues except I use a re-usable K & N air filter and also importantly (I think) changed the front brake fluid.

I truly Hope that you share your experience in changing the front fork oil, as I am not entirely comfortable to perform the procedure at this moment.

I purchased one SH new in 2011 too. The other I purchased in-a-panic, a year and a half later upon discovering the specifications for the new 2013 and noting the decreased tire size and then wondering what else could have been 'changed'.....I was forced to eat bread and beans for a seeming Eternity.....

My 1st scooters too, and I am pleased beyound words with every aspect of my "Lungta(s)" → Tibetan = "Wind Horse", and like a good horse, responds with a willing, driving passion to whatever expectation that I lovingly 'feed' into Her........
♪♫♪♪♫ So Happy Together......

11,000 miles here. 17,700 km. closing in on the 12000 miles I put on a 1984 Honda aero 80 back in the day.
Should have kept the aero but will keep the SH.

I got 17,854 miles on my black SH, bought used with 1510 miles on it in 8/13. Now my burgundy one that I got in 6/14 has 7925, only had 208 miles on it when purchased. So thats a total of 24,061 by me on the SH's so far with lots more to go I hope!

Do you drive at 60 mph or more periodically?

I've been searching for a strange train like noise at 45mph. Starts after the highway runs. It's been so fun
