Low speed wobble :
I bought my 2010 SH 150 new . Only have one complaint after 42,000 trouble free bliss . I have a low speed wobble at around 20 to 30 miles per hour . It's not bad but annoying . Have tried tire pressure , balancing , and pulling my hair out , all to no avail . Please help -----my ship is sinking . :

Re: Low speed wobble :
Considering the mileage, my first hunch would be to consider replacing the steering stem bearing and race....
I also wonder about what kind of life-time we can expect from the other wheel-bearings......

Re: Low speed wobble :
Put it up on the center stand and check the rear wheel for side to side "slop".
Had mine safety checked (required by Law) a few years ago and failed because
it had some movement. Went home and checked the rear axle nut and found it
was loose. Snugged it up and it was cured. Ordered a new nut and passed. YEAH.
2 safety checks @ $50.00 ea. and I'm on the road.
Wouldn't know what to do if my government wasn't taking care of me.

Re: Low speed wobble :
Thanks Guys , I had this problem since it was bought new . Took it in for warranty service but they never could find the culprit . All is tighten on the little beast just can't find the wobble . Four new high grade Pirelli tires on the rear and three to the front . Always garage kept , no abuse ever . She's never been on her side or met a pothole . Had the problem with a windshield and without . Maybe you might have some more ideas for me to explore . I will try anything at this point .

Never had a wobble with my SH's ever over the last 6 years of riding them - I still go back to the darn OEM tires when I replace them because my dealer only has access to those and Shinko's.

Re: Low speed wobble :
I have a front end deceleration wobble on mine that's pretty bad if you take your hands off the handlebars. Had the same problem on my 1996 ST1100. They made a set of aftermarket tapered roller bearings that helped with the wobble. I have tightened the steering head bearing on the SH but to no avail. I guess I'll just have to keep my hands on the handlebars!

Re: Low speed wobble :
A bit late to this but thought I might add something for future readers.
I had the same wobble on my 300 at around 40mph, really bad on deceleration.
It was the head bearings and these were changed.
The problem was noticeably less after the change but still there, UNTIL I also changed the front tyre, and then it went completely.
So if changing the head bearings consider a new front tyre at the same time as the wobble seems to make the tyre wear in a funny way.
