I found Shinko tires for about $30 less than the Michelin City Grips. Anybody tried these?

They are specified for front and rear correctly. I am a little concerned the tread patterns are different.
I will say that I have been using Chinese tires on my vintage Japanese motorcycles for decades. I think they are great, and certainly like the prices.
Anyone tried Shinko tires?

I don't know about those tires. My stock Dunlop rear tire lasted 5,000 miles. My City Grip rear tire lasted 12,000 miles. Same priced tires, less than half the cost. Hope they last if you buy them.

The City Grips have now far exceeded what I got out of the initial crummy Dunlop's.
I realize the temptation involved regarding price point and would invest more 'homework' before taking the leap.
Confidence and knowing reliability are worth a few extra bucks too.
Best of Luck.
