Thanks LOL! The dealer charges a 25% restocking fee. I paid about $13 dollars and change for the cable so I will either sell to whoever needs it plus the shipping in the forum, return it and take a $ 3.25 hit, or just eat it and chalk it up to my Honda Scooter education.

Lesson for all SH owners:
The very first thing to do when something is going wrong or mis-functioning is NOT to suspect the SH, but to honestly ask oneself "what am I doing wrong" or "what have I done wrong" to my virgin bride.
A thorough and honest confession will usually resolve the issue.....

The quality and build of the SH is worthy of veneration; not suspicion.

All kidding aside, I am glad you resolved the situation and saved yourself a lot of needless work.
