So th 'ol SH has turned 20 thou miles a month or so back...
A good look over, engine and gear oil change, and a new air filter... Belt was changed at 15 thou
Now at 20,880 Had the front caliper off today, not much left on the original pads, had a set of EBC pads in the box, so a caliper clean and new pads, rear had a bit left on the pads but did those as welll...
All Sorted... And running well...

Good to hear of your continuing happiness and it is a reminder to me to consider doing a little maintenance work, as I've just been using and using and taking for granted; which is so very easy to do with something so very dependable.
One of my SH's has ~19,000 and the other ~13,000 and I have yet to replace the front brake pads either, even though I bought a replacement pair years ago.
I now notice that on the first one I replaced the original Dunlop tires, which wore completely worn through at 9,000 miles, with City Grips that now have >10,000 miles on them and still appear to have meat on them and still look a little fresh and very round. The Dunlops were always a horror to look at with strange wear-patterns and scallops.
I hope we continue in our bliss and you are able to continue to derive joy from this common, delightful aspect of our existence that we share.

Should really get around to checking the valve clearances...

Congratulations Paul. I just hit 12,000 yesterday. Never had to change the brake pads. Probably because we get such good compression braking.

My scoot's use is a 18 mile each way commute in stop / start traffic, R'bouts, Traffic Lights and London Chaos...
Even with good 'Forward Obs' and 'Anticipation' I'm on the brakes a fair bit, you cant really leave a gap as someone will be in it!
Was quite impressed with 20k miles out of a set of pads though...

I'm clocking on nearly 42,000 miles now, and beginning to pay the price.
Noticed a rear shock with an oil leak that'll need fixing or replacing.

SH125Paul - I did valve clearances around 20k, nothing needed doing. I did again at the last service, 40k and needed to replace a couple of the shims, not much wear, clearance was just outside the tolerance by a couple of thou. Easy peasy, except when I dropped the shim into the cylinder head.
F**K F**K F**K, SH*T ON IT.......
Despite the head being cracked over horizontally it managed to roll all the way down. Those magnet on a stick tools are worth they're weight on gold

Think i'm screw n locknut on a '15 SH125...
Havent 'seen' shims since my FZR1000 Exup... A 5 valve per cylinder head... Thats a lot if shims!
The Yamaha XMax400 (Majesty Engine) is at 24,000 miles and is shim... But i havent looked at that either...

For those of you that have shims for valve adjustment. If you wipe the top of the shim dry, you can use electrical tape to extract them and you won't drop them.

Hey Paul, I just hit 15000 but don't need to change the brake pad and the tire. I feel proud of my tire. Thank God.

Also the recommended time to change the drive belt @ 15,000 encase you need a reminder.
