Center stand spring

Post by breaknwind » Fri Jul 12, 2019 1:40 pm

With + 28,000 miles on my SH the center stand clangs at every bump. The rubber stop is still in place. I've had the center stand off once when I replaced the water pump seals. Thinking of replacement soon. Anyone else :?:

Maybe you can just order the parts you need.

The springs are rusty but no noticeable clanging here...

I removed the center stand (CS). The main part of the stand has elongated holes from long term use. While installing the collar I noticed this. The clanging noise has lessened now that there's new pivot collars. I no longer have access to a machine shop so I won't be able to salvage it. It'll have to do for now.
Now get this. The CS for the SH is $88. Yet the CS for the BV's I sold are $38.
