1000km Home-Sea-Home, 2 days

Post by madness » Sat Oct 24, 2015 1:40 pm

Hi guys!

About a week ago i had a little 2 days travel: ~510km from Rostov-on-Don, to the Black Sea, place near city Novorossiysk. And ~510km back home.
My home-made SH done it well! :) Everywhere, i could, i've holded throttle open at 100%, sometimes it was 20-40 minutes at 100% open throttle. And engine seems to be OK after this! :)))
Air temperature was 10-15C, so, engine heated less then 50% of scale.

Hornestly, i had one little trouble: valve clearings after 1000km of such driving gone +0.05mm both, so, engine's work became unstable at idle revs, even upto engine's stop. And shots from muffler too at low revs.

Glad to hear that you conquered your over-heating problems and had a trouble-free journey.
I too like traveling in the 'off' season and your tent setting is astounding and probably the best location considering the rocky terrain....
Your packed and loaded SH pic reminded me of mine own 5 day trip a while back......
