Famous people you've met
Met this guy last week. Very much a gentleman and one heck of a musician as well as a Phd in astrophysics. Can any tell who he is?

DING DING DING We have a winner. It is indeed Mr. May. He gave a talk about a book he's written, A Village Lost and Found, in Philladelphia and I managed to get him to sign my copy.

Brian Harold May, CBE (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician and astrophysicist most widely known as the lead guitarist and a songwriter of the rock band Queen. As a guitarist he uses his home-built guitar, "Red Special", and has composed hits such as "Keep Yourself Alive", "Now I'm Here", "Tie Your Mother Down", "We Will Rock You", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Hammer to Fall", "Save Me", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "I Want It All" and "Too Much Love Will Kill You". May earned a PhD in astrophysics in 2007 and is currently the Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University. May lives in Surrey.
He was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2005 for "services to the music industry".
In 2005, a Planet Rock poll saw May voted the 7th greatest guitarist of all time. He was ranked 39th in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
OK OK, so I cheated......

Re: Famous people you've met
I love making lists, but I don't think I've ever made one of the famous people I've met.
Most of them are probably professional motorcycle racers or primarily motorcycle related. Let's see...
Kevin Schwantz (many times)
Pascal Picotte
Jamie Hacking
Larry Pegram
Jason Pridmore
Kurtis Roberts
Aaron Yates
Eric Bostrom
Nicky Hayden (a couple times) -and his parents
Roger Hayden
Mat Mladin
Josh Hayes
Dave Despain (moto-journalist)
Larry Maier (moto-journalist)
Max Biaggi -a really nice guy
Leon Haslam
Jason Disalvo
Bob Hannah
Malcolm Smith
Doug Polen
Ben Spies
Antron Brown
John Hopkins
George Barber -owner of Barber Motorsports Park
Willie G Davidson
Chris Carr
Troy Adams
Gina Galligan -she was "Ms Harley-Davidson" when they had such a thing
Scott Parker
Noriyuki Haga
James Toseland
Leon Haslam
Melissa Paris
Carlos Checa
Scott Russell
Max Neukirchner
Erik Buell
I've seen a bunch others up close (including Valentino Rossi), but I only lited the ones I actually "met." No, I don't have a great memory. I do have lots of pictures from the motorcycle events I've attended.
Other peeps I have met...
General Barry McCaffrey -former Drug Czar... he actually invited me and my wife to lunch at the White House back in 1997
Jack Gill -Hollywood stunt man... I sold him one of my motorcycles once
Morgan Brittany -Jack's wife and a well known actress
Lindsay Hollister -actress and a friend of mine
Don Levine -the inventor of the G.I. Joe
Sen Ben Knighthorse Campbell -also a motorcyclist
It might be difficult to believe, considering the fact I can whip out a list like this, but I'm old enough to put things into perspective. Famous people are just people. Friends and family rule.

Re: Famous people you've met
Howdy,
Ok, I'll play. The list will be short..James Burton (on several occasions), Vida Blue, Chuck Berry (spoke to him briefly and got a laugh from him!), Dick Butkus, Pete Rose (the latter two at autograph sessions, if that counts), College Football hall of Fame coach Bill Yeoman for a "chalktalk" session on his Houston Veer offense. There are others, but I've already put enough info on the 'net.

Re: Famous people you've met
The only one who comes to mind is Jimmy Carter -- Years ago in the Oval Office on my birthday, and again about 10 days ago at my niece's wedding.
And I'll include my dad, who while not famous, served in the Navy during WWII, the Korean War, & the Viet Nam War. And was also at the Bikini Atoll.
