Who recognizes this (cooling?) part and knows to connect it?

Post by Cage » Tue May 15, 2018 2:41 pm

Hi all,

About a year ago I decided to take apart my SH125i from 2008, because it had no power and made weird noises.
I made notes (but not enough..) and have a Haynes manual, but nevertheless I'm lost in re-connecting the (cooling) hoses from the engine. Especially there's one part of which I don't know what it does and where it should connect to (see attachment).

Can anyone tell my what this thing does and where I should connect it to?

thanks!

Yikes......The hose on the left, because of the coiled protection, appears that it would connect directly to the engine, of which you have a singular option....and then the other will be pointing to your only other option.
I am not familiar with the 125-2008 BUT this appears to be a problem that with a little Time and patience, will work itself out.
Good luck and stick with it.....

Thanks :)
The issue is that there are multiple options, but if this one is solved the rest falls into place 8-) Also it bothers me not to know what this thing is and does, but that is more a matter of principle

I am not certain....could that be a coolant pump, as the wires appear rather stout?
Hopefully someone with a 125 will chime in and educate us.......

Try the fowlers parts web site, navigate by make, model, year...
Some great exploded diagrams, along with the parts listings... they may help
